FURst Impression- Terms and Conditions
NEW CLIENTS
Please allow time on our first appointment to complete a Client Information card and sign our Terms and Conditions and GDPR form. Under the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) which comes into effect on 25th May 2018, we want you to know that FURst Impression respects the information we hold on you and that we take the security of your information very seriously. All personal information is kept confidential and we will require your explicit consent before we can contact you.
We will also discuss your personal requirements for grooming and carry out a Health Check of your dog. This process will take about 10-15 minutes.
ONE DOG AT A TIME
FURst Impression operate under a one dog at a time policy. If you were to book two dogs in, we could do our best to give you following appointments.
ANAL GLANDS
Under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, only qualified Veterinary Surgeons are allowed to diagnose conditions and undertake treatments such as expressing anal glands, teeth cleaning and administering medicines, or advise owners on how to do this themselves. As such, no Dog Groomer should be partaking in any of these activities. Whilst some less informed Dog Groomers do carry out these procedures, at FURst Impression, we observe the regulations put in place by the Law and will not carry out such procedure. However, we will of course conduct a thorough health check of your dog and advise whether there is anything observed which should be addressed by a Vet.
CANCELLATION
We hope you don’t have to cancel your grooming appointment but if you do please give us as much notice as possible, we are a small business and ‘no shows’ can have a detrimental effect on us, if we have enough notice we may be able to fill your appointment slot. cancellation charges are as follows :
More than 24 hours’ cancellation notice. No charge
Less than 24 hours’ cancellation notice 25% of groom cost
No-show 50% of groom cost
Exceptions will be made for unavoidable emergencies. If you cancel twice within a 12- month period, we will require a 50% deposit for all future bookings.
PICK UP
We will notify you when your dog’s groom is completed, and they are ready for collection by phoning you (or by text messaging if this is the preferred and agreed method). Due to limited space within the salon we cannot hold completed dogs indefinitely and ask that you collect you dog within 30 minutes of being advised. Any dog that is not collected within a suitable time will be charged a £5 late collection charge per every half hour that passes. This fee is payable on top of the cost of the groom carried out. This is to discourage pets being left with us for extended periods possibility resulting in stress and anxiety.
VETERINARY CARE
FURst Impression has my (the owner’s) permission to seek veterinary advice or care whilst at the salon. Where possible FURst Impression will aim to contact you (the owner) directly and discuss the appropriate action to be taken. If you are not contactable I will proceed to take the pet to FURst Impressions’ dedicated Veterinary Hospital. I (the owner) agree to pay all the fees and associated costs should veterinary care be required.
PREVIOUS CONDITIONS NOT DECLARED OR UNDETECTED
FURst Impression is not responsible for any conditions or problems discovered during grooming. FURst Impression will inform you of anything found at collection so that you are able to take appropriate action.
VET CARE NEEDED AFTER GROOM
Should Veterinary care be necessary as a result of any services by FURst Impression, I (the owner) will notify them within 48 hours of such are. Reimbursement for such care will be at the sole discretion of FURst Impression, unless it can be clearly shown that FURst Impression is liable, all cost will be at my (the owners) expense.
MATTED
FURst Impression do not de-matt neglected coats. This is very different to removing small knots, tangles and isolated matted hair from the coat which can be achieved quickly without causing anxiety, stress and pain.
The health and condition of a dog’s coat and skin are the responsibility of the owner (along with socialisation, training, physical and psychological stage of health) professional grooming plays an important role in the commitment undertaken when choosing any breed of dog.
I (the owner) agree to allow FURst Impression to shave my dog if it is deemed to be matted to small isolated areas and the use of de-matting tools may cause pain and suffering to the dog. I (the owner) will be informed and given the option to pick my dog up from FURst Impression before the procedure is carried out. FURst Impression shall not be held liable for any after grooming effects of the de-matting, shaving process and problems uncovered on a matted or otherwise neglected coat. These include, but are not limited to itchiness, skin redness or self-inflicted irritations/abrasion from excessive external rubbing. I (the owner) understand the time and costs associated with de-matting are unpredictable and subject to the condition of my dog.
FURst Impression reserves the right to refuse to groom any dog for the health and safety of the dog and/or groomer. Services may be discontinued if FURst Impression determines that a dog presents an unhealthy/unsafe condition. Such conditions include but are not limited to; behaviour issues, health problems, severe neglect/matting and parasites.
I agree to inform FURst Impression prior to grooming if the dog has ever bitten any person, another dog or has any aggressive tendencies whatsoever. I understand and agree that I (the owner) will be held solely liable for any harm, injury or property damage caused by my dog.
RELIEF PRIOR TO GROOMING
I (the owner) agree to make sure my dog has relieved itself prior to drop off at FURst Impression.
PARASITES
It is my (the owners) duty to make sure my dog is free of parasites (e.g fleas, ticks, worms etc). I (the owner) will use appropriate flea and tick prevention on my dog. If you notice any parasites your appointment can be rearranged to a later date once your pet has been clear for a minimum of 48 hours. If my (the owners) dog is found to be carrying parasites during the groom, FURst Impression have the right to terminate the service, and you will be expected to pay a minimum of £15.00 or the cost of any services completed (whichever is greater) plus a £5 fee to cover the additional sterilization required for the salon.
ALLERGIES
If my dog suffers from any allergies, I (the owner) agree that I will make FURst Impression aware of such allergies and either provide a veterinary shampoo or give FURst Impression permission to use a hypoallergenic product.
OLD AGE DOGS
If my dog is of an age that FURst Impression considers to be elderly, only grooming work that they will tolerate will be carried out. FURst Impression will not cause undue stress to an elderly dog, however all work will be attempted with the dog’s health and welfare as a priority.
COMPLAINTS
If for any reason, I (the owner) am not happy with any aspect of my dogs grooming experience at FURst Impression, I agree to inform them within 48 hours of my appointment. I understand that I can sometimes be difficult interpreting a customer’s requests exactly.
PHOTOS
I (the owner) give FURst Impression permission to take photos of my dog during the grooming process; the photos may be posted on Facebook and might be used in promotional material.
PAYMENT
I (the owner) agree to pay all costs for the grooming of my dog but not limited to, special handling requirements, fouling, fleas, de-matting and fees due to late drop off/pick up or missed appointments.
